National Ballet of Canada - The Nutcracker

We love making videos for the National Ballet of Canada.

Christmas came early last year, when they asked us to tell the story of the Nutcracker in time for their production. We enjoyed the challenge of telling the whole story in a minute and the opportunity to fill every scene with blizzards of snow and candlelight.

This is our third animation for NBC. Each one retells a ballet’s story, to help audiences follow and enjoy productions.

This was the start of a beautiful friendship with the National Ballet of Canada. It was also an opportunity to learn the plot of this Russian Classic and tell it in a warm, approachable style. FYI, it’s pronounced Onegin.
